We are a Wirral based building company working out of Birkenhead, covering the Wirral peninsula and the surrounding area.
We specialise in new builds, extensions and loft conversions, and we also fit bathrooms, carry out roofing work and take on garden landscaping - providing the full construction package from groundworks through to final finishes.
Not always. Many single storey extensions fall under permitted development rights, which means full planning permission is not required - though there are limits on depth, height and how much of the garden you can build on. Rules are tighter on flats, listed buildings and in conservation areas. It is worth confirming with Wirral Council before you commit, and applying for a lawful development certificate so you have proof in writing.
Yes. Every loft conversion needs Building Regulations approval regardless of whether planning permission is required. The regulations cover the new floor structure, fire safety and escape routes, insulation, ventilation and the geometry of the staircase.
